Waxing
I am Kim Lawless trained, and therefore use her method. For those of you who don't know, Kim Lawless is The Waxing Queen, so I'm proud to have trained with her and be able to bring her method to Kingston upon Thames to wax you in the best possible way! I use two types of wax; Perron Rigot Euroblonde non-strip wax (hot wax) for intimate waxing and sensitive areas, such as Hollywood and Brazilian bikini waxes and an underarm wax. And Waxperts Rosie Pearl Strip Wax for all other areas. Perron Rigot and Waxperts are well known for high quality and are two of the best within the waxing industry. Waxperts Rosie Pearl is a strip wax that effortlessly removes troublesome hairs leaving no sticky residue. Euroblonde non-strip wax (also known as hot wax or hard wax) is perfect for intimate waxing, underarms and the face as it is especially suitable for short, tough hairs and shrink wraps the hair and doesn't stick to the skin.

Why Wax?
Waxing is the most effective method of temporary hair removal. Large areas of hair can be removed quickly and the area can remain hair free for several weeks. Waxing removes hair from the root which means the skin can remain hair free for weeks. The hair that grows back will have a tapered end instead of a blunt end (that you would get from shaving, epilators, threading and removal creams) and will feel much softer.
How long does the hair need to be?
For the best results you should leave your hair to grow for about 3-4 weeks, roughly the size of a grain of rice.
How long will the results last?
Everyone is different and some people only need to get waxed occasionally, whilst others have to get waxed every four weeks. You will notice that if you continue to wax, your hair will grow slower and more sparse.
How often should I return to be waxed?
Again, everyone is different, but I would recommend for your first four appointments you return every 4 weeks, and then you may find that you can go longer between appointments.
Does it hurt?
I'm not going to lie...it isn't the most relaxing treatment I offer, but I've been trained by the Wax Queen herself and therefore have been taught the best way to wax you with minimal discomfort. I also use the highest quality wax available, which does make a difference.
What does Intimate Waxing entail?
For a Hollywood, Brazilian, G-String or Ibiza wax you will have to be naked from the waist down to ensure a thorough wax. This may feel intimidating at first, but remember I am a professional and the results will be worth it.
Can anyone be waxed?
There are very few contra-indications for waxing but please check this list as I will not be able to wax you if you suffer from any of the following:
Diabetes (I will need a note from your doctor)
Epilepsy (Again, I will need a note from your doctor)
Haemophilia
Contagious skin conditions
Hypersensitive skin
Sunburn
If you are on any medication that thins the blood or skin
If you are/have been taking RoAccutane within the last 6 months
Is there any aftercare?
YES!
You must avoid extreme heat for 24 hours. This includes very hot baths/showers, steam rooms, saunas and Jacuzzi's as your pores are still open, meaning you could pick up an infection, and aggravates the skin.
You must avoid exposure to UV light, including sun beds and sunbathing for 24 hours as burning can occur.
Waxing removes dead skin so the skin may be a little lighter immediately following treatment but colour will return to normal within a few hours.
Deodorant or anything perfumed should not be applied to the area that has been waxed for 24-48 hours as this could make the area very sore.
Make up should be avoided following facial hair removal, although mineral make up is fine.
A heat reaction may be seen on the skin for several hours following waxing and this is quite normal. This can vary from a mild redness to a much stronger skin reaction and some people have red dots on the waxed area for several hours.
Tight clothing should be avoided following your waxing treatment for 24-48 hours.
Dry brush the area that has been waxed a couple of times a week. A dry brush before your shower, following by some baby oil or E45 lotion will show some great results and can help to avoid ingrown hairs.
Don't over exfoliate as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs.
No fake tans for 24 hours.
